Yvan Cartwright

Yvan Cartwright has a diverse work experience in the field of computer science and game design. Yvan is currently working as the Principal Engineer at Atomhawk Design Ltd, where they are responsible for technical art and generalist roles. Prior to this, they worked at Staffordshire University for many years. Yvan held various positions including Award Leader for Computer Games Design and Programming, Senior Lecturer, Award Leader for Multiplayer Online Games Design, Lecturer, and Researcher and Part-Time Lecturer. In these roles, Yvan focused on teaching and developing modules related to programming, web development, game development, and artificial intelligence systems. Yvan also conducted research in scientific visualization and mathematical modeling, culminating in a PhD where they designed and validated a framework for simulating greenhouse environments.

Yvan Cartwright completed a PhD in Computing Science from Staffordshire University between 1998 and 2007. Prior to that, they obtained an MSc in Computing Science from the same university between 1997 and 1998. Yvan also holds a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science/Software Engineering from the University of Birmingham, earned from 1991 to 1994. In addition, they have obtained a Fellowship of the Higher Education Authority from the Higher Education Academy in 2021.
