Ed Kawashiri

Ed Kawashiri is the current Director of Procurement at Atomwise. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Consultant at Kantar from November 2019 to October 2020. In this role, they conducted primary quantitative and qualitative as well as secondary market research for clinical stage pharma/biotech companies. Ed also contributed to the preparation of client proposals and shadowed Senior Consultants drafting proposals. In addition, Ed authored modules of Kantar's CancerMPact syndicated products, including Treatment Architecture and Future Trends & Insights. Ed attended oncology conferences, including ASCO, to collect information for Kantar’s syndicated products as well as other custom projects.

From November 2020 to September 2022, Ed worked as the Associate Director of Market Intelligence at Atomwise. In this role, they were responsible for competitive intelligence monitoring for Atomwise’s three leading drug discovery programs. Ed also managed market research projects with contractors and ran primary research projects to support our programs. In addition, Ed Kawashiri managed Atomwise’s KOL program, which included recruiting new KOLs, negotiating consulting agreements and SOWs, as well as onboarding. Ed also conducted commercial and market assessments of new targets of interest for Atomwise’s portfolio, presenting findings to the executive management team. Lastly, they worked closely with Atomwise CADD scientists and project managers to bring program stage progression decision requests to our executive management team – included preparing commercial and market assessments, designing storyboards for the presentations, and ensuring the team completes deliverables on time.

Ed Kawashiri's educational career began with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Saint Louis University. Ed then went on to earn a Master of Science in Chemistry from the same school. Finally, they completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from Saint Louis University.
