Jon Harmon

Jon Harmon is a Data Science Leader and R programming expert with extensive experience in R package development. As of 2023, they serve as an Independent R Package Developer and Principal Data Solutions Engineer at Atorus, where they apply their expertise to client solutions. They are the Executive Director and Data Scientist of the R4DS Online Learning Community, which they successfully grew from 1,600 to over 14,000 members since 2018, and have administered over 60 R-related book clubs. Jon has authored more than 30 R packages, significantly enhancing data pipeline efficiency, and has played a key role in organizing the Shiny for Good track at the ShinyConf2024. They pursued research toward a PhD in Biochemistry at The University of Texas at Austin from 1997 to 2000.
