John Lorié

Chief Economist at Atradius

John Lorié has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John is currently working as a Lecturer at the University of Amsterdam, specifically at the Amsterdam School of Economics, starting from September 2021. In their role at Atradius from April 2011 to present, they held the position of Chief Economist, where they led a team responsible for global economic outlook, country risk analysis, country risk rating models, and quantitative research. John Lorié earned an Atheneum degree in Economics from Christelijke Scholengemeenschap Rijswijk in 1978. John then went on to obtain a Bachelors degree in Marketing from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences in 1981. Following that, they pursued a Masters degree (honours) in Economics from the University of Amsterdam from 1982 to 1987. John later completed a Masters degree in Tax Economics at the University of Amsterdam from 1989 to 1991. Finally, they obtained a Doctorate in International Economics from the University of Amsterdam, where they studied from 1992 to 2005.
