Siddappa Setty

Siddappa Setty is a Fellow (Scientist) at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment, where they have worked for the past 14 years, focusing on biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of forest resources. They began their career as a Research Associate at the Tata Energy Research Institute from 1994 to 1998 and completed a Ph.D. at the University of Mysore in 2004, specializing in the sustainable harvest of non-timber forest products. Since 2009, Siddappa has been recognized as a Fulbright scholar and has dedicated 17 years to supporting tribal areas in India through participatory resource monitoring and agroforestry.
