Charles Qiu is the Lead Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Labs, focusing on IMS-based real-time telecommunication network design and integration since 2005. They have been instrumental in the implementation of real-time communication applications on cloud-based infrastructure using OpenStack since 2013, with a total of 120 US patents awarded and 30 patents in process. Previously, Charles held positions as a System Architect and Consultant at various companies and was awarded four patents during their tenure at Sprint. They earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Iowa between 1986 and 1993.
