Derek Abart

Derek Abart is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, currently serving as Assistant Vice President Technology at AT&T since November 2004. In this role, Derek oversees Project Managers and Field Engineers in South Carolina and Georgia, acting as an escalation point for both customers and AT&T's executive personnel. Previous positions at AT&T include Director Network Services and Area Manager for PM & Field Engineering. Derek's background also includes experience as a Senior-Client Services Project Manager, where responsibility involved managing a monthly CPE backlog of approximately $1.5 million. Prior to AT&T, Derek worked at Sprint as a Network Operations Specialist II, focusing on program management and network implementation, and at CommuniTech.Net as a Network Support Engineer. Educationally, Derek holds an MBA and MS in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, as well as a BS in Telecommunications Management from DeVry.
