Richard Schmidt

Richard Schmidt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in wireless network architecture and technology development. Currently serving as Director of Subscriber Data Management at AT&T Labs since January 2001, Richard leads initiatives in 5G SA core evolution and multi-RAN access capabilities. Previous roles at AT&T Labs include Director of Infrastructure Development, where Richard oversaw the architecture for IMS and led the deployment of platforms like AT&T Video Share. Earlier in his career, Richard contributed to cellular network technology at SBC Technology Resources and BellSouth Science and Technology, focusing on systems such as ANSI-41 HLR and Advanced Intelligent Network architecture. Richard holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Caltech and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.
