NJ V. has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and software engineering. They started their career as a Systems Administrator at San Diego State University in 1995 and later worked as an Intern at General Instrument and The Scripps Research Institute.
In 1996, NJ V. joined NetPartners as a Systems Engineer and then moved on to Websense in 2000. At Websense, they held various roles including Systems Analyst, Sr. Security Engineer, and Lead Developer. They were involved in the development of real-time classifier analytics and co-founded Websense Security Labs.
In 2012, NJ V. joined Forcepoint as a Lead Architect and Team Lead, where they were responsible for the development of data and APIs for Threat Intelligence applications. They also worked as a Sr. Systems Architect/Engineering Manager, overseeing the development of next-generation security analytics and file sandboxing products. Additionally, NJ V. served as the Principal Systems Architect for the global Security Labs organization, leading architectural efforts on the Threat Intelligence Platform.
Most recently, NJ V. joined AttackIQ in 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer and later became the Principal Engineer and Core Platform member. In their role, they led the development of the AttackIQ endpoint agent and ensured its functionality, security, and documentation.
NJ V. has a Bachelor of Science degree from UC San Diego, with a major in Cognitive & Computer Science and a minor in Japanese Studies.
