Ali Ghachem

Ali Ghachem has had a varied work experience since 2018. In 2018, they were an Intern at NICE Ltd, where they worked on territory and quota management software. Ali modified existing data loader in Java to pass input data from a file or internal incentive compensation management software into a staging table for validation before it is saved. Ali also modified the user interface using Angular and TypeScript to show where input data was invalid and so could not be saved. In 2019, they were an Intern at Sandtable, where they developed two new microservices in Python that would handle retrieving prices for instances running models on the platform, and calculating bills for users running clusters consisting of multiple instances. Ali also implemented design feedback using React and TypeScript to improve onboarding for new users. In 2020, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Attest, working within the Qualification Squad with both backend and frontend engineers to increase number of users for Attest’s survey platform and the number of users drafting surveys. Ali achieved this through working to develop new pages where a user can complete their profile and unlock credits to use on the platform, as well as documenting and implementing how data collected at signup could be saved to tailor a user's experience. Ali also explored how routes between questions could be made clearer to improve user experience. In 2021, they are currently a Software Engineer at Attest, working within a team with both backend and frontend engineers to increase quality of responses for Attest’s survey platform and extend the reach of the platform to allow for responses from a wider audience. Technology used includes TypeScript with Vue.js, Java with Spring, Golang, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and AWS.

Ali Ghachem completed a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from Imperial College London from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended Strode's College, Egham from 2015 to 2017.
