Thom Mackey

Thom Mackey has extensive work experience in the technology and data space. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Network Administrator for the ACT Department of Education and Training. In 2006, they became an Analyst for the Department of Defence of Australia, where they led teams to solutions to previously unsolved intelligence problems. From 2011 to 2013, they were a GIS Industry Solutions Consultant for ESRI Australia, where they provided tailored consulting and technical demonstrations to clients. Thom then worked as a Palantir FSR for Criterion Solutions Pty Ltd in 2013. In 2014, they were a Deployment Strategist for Palantir Technologies, where they bootstrapped, grew, and directed Palantir's commercial business in Australia. Thom also worked as a Director & Principal Consultant for Weston Labs in 2014. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Data Strategy Consultant, providing services such as board-level strategy statements to policy creation and technical project management. Since 2020, they have been the Head of Operations and Data at HotDoc, leading the company's COVID-19 testing and vaccination response and managing government, industry, and internal stakeholders. Thom is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Atticus.

Thom Mackey obtained a Bachelor of Asian Studies/Bachelor of Arts from The Australian National University between 2001 and 2005, with a focus on Linguistics, Mandarin, and Persian.
