ATTOWORLD is a home for synergies across institutions and borders, initiated by 2023 Physics Nobel laureate Prof. Ferenc Krausz. By uniting the teams of the MPQ Laboratory for Attosecond Physics, the LMU Chair of Experimental Physics – Laser Physics, and of the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications (CALA), which push the frontiers of science in strategic collaboration with the Center for Molecular Fingerprinting (CMF) in Hungary and the University of Hong Kong, and in partnership with clinics and research institutions across these countries and beyond. These institutions have joined forces for a Global Initiative: protecting.health, with the aim to lay the foundations for personalized precision preventive healthcare.

We pursue – supported by startups such as Ultrafast Innovations GmbH (UFI) and PULSED GmbH - the transfer our technological developments to research institutions and enterprises all over the world. We feel obliged to disseminate the knowledge we acquire and are glad to share our findings, provide advice and technical assistance to researchers of any public institution of the world committed to advancing science, technology or medicine.

Our Logo displays the first light wave ever captured, in this case a few-cycle wave of red laser light. It was recorded with attosecond flashes of light, establishing attosecond metrology, the fastest metrology on Earth.
