Tom Purcell

Tom Purcell is a seasoned professional in biochemistry with extensive experience in enzyme and protein engineering. Currently serving as the Director of Biochemistry at ATUM since February 2013, Tom focuses on leveraging the ProteinGPS platform to enhance enzyme and antibody tools for various projects. Prior roles include Senior Scientist in Protein Engineering at ATUM, Staff Scientist at Calysta Energy, and postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Francisco, where Tom studied structural thermodynamics and kinetics of molecular motors. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Stanford University, where Tom also completed graduate studies, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from UC San Diego.
