Howie Singer has been working in the music industry for over 40 years. Howie began their career in 1978 at a2b music (AT&T) as CTO and Co-Founder, and Department Head. In 1999, they became the Senior VP, Marketing & Product Strategy at Reciprocal, where they were a corporate officer responsible for marketing, product strategy, and business development. In 2001, they moved to Rightscom as a Senior Consultant. Howie then joined Warner Music Group in 2002 as Chief Strategic Technologist (SVP), where they were an expert on the implications of technology for the music business and worked on the technical aspects of major licensing deals and led anti-piracy efforts. In 2017, they joined Universal Music Group as a Special Technology Advisor. In 2018, they became an Adjunct Professor in the Music Business Program at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. In 2020, they became Co-Author at Oxford University Press and Co-Founder at Auddy Limited, an exciting startup focused on bringing a whole new level of customer experience, exclusive content and technology to the ecosystem of audio and podcasting on the internet. Howie currently serves on the Advisory Board at Beatdapp.
Howie Singer obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Mathematics from Stony Brook University between 1970 and 1974. Howie then went on to Cornell University, where they earned their PhD and MS in Engineering/Operations Research between 1974 and 1978.
