Eric K. has a wealth of experience in the software engineering field. Eric began their career in 2003 as a Senior Software Engineer at ValueClick Media, where they led the design, coding, and successful deployment of extremely high performance custom web servers, in-stream video advertising, and behavioral targeting solutions. In 2008, they moved to Sittercity Incorporated and took on the roles of Director of Technology and Software Architect. In this role, they lead the selection, implementation, and delivery of a domain-driven MVC web architecture as part of a product re-design, as well as the development and adoption of an iterative software engineering process. In 2012, Eric became the Chief Technology Officer at Wellspring Worldwide. In 2016, they took on the role of VP of Engineering at Public Good Software, Inc., where they helped people take action on current events for greater public good by developing machine learning models, code, and infrastructure to pair news articles with relevant social benefit causes. Eric is also the Founder and Organizer of Refactor::Chicago, a community of 1,700+ professionals dedicated to learning and sharing ideas and technologies in order to help each other succeed in software engineering environments, and an Organizer of the Chicago CTO Forum. In 2019, they became a GoLang Maintainer, CLI Maintainer, and Mentor at Exercism. Most recently, in 2021, Eric became Co-Founder and CTO of Audit Sight Inc. and in 2022, they took on the role of Treasurer at FRIENDS OF NACHUSA GRASSLANDS.
Eric K. attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
