Mike Baca is a cybersecurity professional and lifelong student with a passion for identifying and solving complex problems. Currently, they serve as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at August Schell and have also held the role of Chief Information Officer there in 2024. Previously, they were a Lead Threat Hunting Instructor at the National Security Agency from 2019 to 2024. Mike's experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor and Course Development Subject Matter Expert at the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they also earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy. Before their transition to cybersecurity, they served in the United States Marine Corps as a Logistics and Training Manager and Counterintelligence/Force Protection specialist.
