Ron Flax

Ron Flax's work experience includes various leadership and technical roles in different companies. Ron started their career at Apple Computer in 1988, where they worked as a Senior Technical Product Manager and Senior Software Engineer, specializing in marketing and selling A/UX and Macintosh systems in the Federal Government. At Apple, they also began developing custom solutions and software for the Newton PDA product.

In 1993, they launched their own consulting firm, Flaxgroup Consulting, LLC, where they provided software development services in the areas of Mobile Computing, Internet/Intranet Web design, and Web database integration. Ron targeted platforms like Apple's Newton PDA and later transitioned to Palm's Palm Pilot PDA.

Ron joined Oracle in 1999 as a Senior Mobile Solutions Specialist, responsible for selling, deploying, and training customers worldwide on Oracle's Application Server products, with a focus on mobile solutions. Ron worked as a customer advocate for various products built and delivered by Oracle's Application Server team.

Starting in 2002, Ron joined Opsware, Inc. as a Senior Consulting Engineer. Ron managed multiple major deployments of Opsware's Data Center Automation technology in the federal government, providing technical consulting and engineering support. Ron also delivered customer training and guidance during the delivery and installation of Opsware systems.

Ron Flax continued their career at Hewlett-Packard, arriving via the Opsware acquisition in 2007. Ron worked as a Senior Solutions Architect, managing multiple Opsware deployments in the federal government.

In 2008, Ron joined August Schell Enterprises as the Director for Data Center Automation. Their responsibilities included providing leadership and technical project oversight, as well as managing the technical resources involved in customer deployments of data center automation technologies. Ron later became the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, leading the company in seeking and learning about new technology products and educating employees, partners, and customers on their applications.

Throughout their career, Ron has shown expertise in various areas such as virtualization technologies, data center automation, and mobile solutions.

Ron Flax attended the University of Maryland from 1979 to 1983, where they studied Industrial Technology. Beyond their undergraduate education, Ron also obtained several certifications in the field of technology. In August 2014, they achieved the VCDX-NV certification from VMware. The same year, they also obtained the VCIX-NV certification from VMware. In August 2018, Ron became a Splunk Certified Architect 6.x through Splunk. In April 2020, they received the Aviatrix Certified Engineer (ACE) certification from Aviatrix. Most recently, in January 2021, Ron obtained the VMware Certified Design Expert #166 certification from VMware.
