Cory Shields

Cory Shields has a diverse range of work experience in software engineering and development. Cory began their career as a IT Technical Specialist Intern at FirstEnergy Solutions in 2010. Cory then moved on to work as a Developer at Sogeti from 2011 to 2013, where they focused on customer-facing web design and maintenance. In 2013, Cory joined Pillar Technology as a Software Engineer, later becoming a Software Craftsman/Tech Lead. During their time at Pillar Technology, they specialized in Agile software development and worked on various test-driven development projects, including C++ using QT Framework, Java SpringBoot microservices, Android and iOS application development, and Javascript web application development with AngularJS. Cory's most recent position is with augustwenty, where they currently serve as a Sr. Software Engineer, assisting companies in building valuable products and leveraging their expertise in connected/embedded products, cloud application architecture, and mobile application development.

Cory Shields attended Waterloo High School from 2004 to 2007. After completing high school, they went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science at Hiram College from 2007 to 2011.
