Aunt Lute Books is an intersectional feminist press committed to publishing voices that have historically been silenced or excluded from the mainstream literary canon. Since 1982, we have centered the narratives of women, nonbinary people, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and communities of color, creating space for transformative literature that challenges power and uplifts marginalized experiences.

We believe storytelling is a radical act—one that fosters connection, empathy, and healing. Through our publications, we strive to confront and dismantle systems of oppression while honoring the complexities of identity, ancestry, and resistance. We are driven by the understanding that literature can be both a mirror and a map, helping us understand the past, process the present, and imagine more just futures.
