Aaron Belbasis

Aaron Belbasis is a PhD-qualified aerospace professional and Chartered Professional Engineer with a focus on applied R&D commercialization and strategic innovation. With a diverse career spanning university labs, startups, and the industry, they founded and led the Applied Research function at Aurecon, where they built long-term research partnerships and translated academic breakthroughs into impactful industry applications. Previously, Aaron founded BuildBasis Consultants and served in various engineering roles, including at Daimler and Versus Fitness. They are currently pursuing multiple degrees at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the University of California, Berkeley. Passionate about turning ambitious research into scalable ventures, Aaron has also advised startups and mentored emerging talent in the STEM field.
