Andy MacGillivray is a highly experienced mechanical engineer with a robust background in renewable energy technologies. Currently serving as the Lead Mechanical Engineer at Aurecon since November 2021, Andy previously held several positions at Wood from September 2015 to November 2021, progressing from Mechanical Engineer to Senior Mechanical Engineer, and ultimately to Lead Engineer. Andy's academic background includes a PhD in Energy Systems from the University of Edinburgh, where research focused on cost reduction in tidal renewable energy technologies, and participation in the Strategic Initiative for Ocean Energy. Earlier career experience includes a Mechanical Engineer role at Scottish Power Renewables, where a structured graduate training programme refined skills across various departments.
