James Rooney

James Rooney is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in project management and delivery leadership. Currently serving as the Delivery Management Practice Leader at Aurecon since May 2014, James has also held the roles of Technical Director and Principal Contract Management Engineer. Prior to Aurecon, James held various positions at Beca, including Associate in Project Management and Project Manager, and worked as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer and Contract Structural Engineer at Buro Happold. Earlier career roles included Structural Engineer at JSA Consulting Engineers and Civil Engineer at Sinclair Knight Merz. James began the professional journey as a Technical Support Officer at Invercargill City Council. James holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury, earned between 1996 and 1999.
