Jan Kupec is a Geotechnical Engineer based in Christchurch, specializing in ground engineering and urban search and rescue. Currently, Jan works with LINZ and Waka Kotahi on national infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise and project management. Previously, Jan served as a lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology at the University of Strathclyde and held a role as a Geotechnical Specialist with NZ USAR. With over fifty published technical papers and regular presentations at conferences, Jan has significantly contributed to the fields of geotechnical engineering and earthquake recovery efforts. Jan's extensive experience includes leading geotechnical site investigations and risk assessments related to land stability and contaminated sites.
