Nimish Gupta

Nimish Gupta currently serves as Legal Director at Aurecon, focusing on technology, data, innovation, and intellectual property since October 2021. Prior to this role, Nimish was Group IP Counsel for both the Minerals sector globally and the Asia Pacific region at The Weir Group PLC from October 2016 to October 2021. At Canon Information Systems Research Australia (CiSRA), from July 2008 to October 2016, Nimish led a team of patent attorneys and engineers, managing IP creation and risk activities for a major R&D center. Nimish has also worked as a Lawyer and Patent & Trade Mark Attorney at Watermark - Intellectual Asset Management, with extensive experience in patent prosecution and contentious IP matters. Earlier positions include Project Manager and Systems Developer at the University of New South Wales. An accomplished academic, Nimish holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Technology, Sydney, along with a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from the University of Melbourne.
