Darren James

Darren James is a senior executive and non-executive director with a demonstrable history in large and complex infrastructure and built environment sectors. They currently serve as Chief Executive Officer of Aureos (2024–Present) and as a Non-Executive Director at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (2025–Present). Their prior leadership roles include Chief Executive Officer at Keltbray Group (2020–2024) and Chief Operating Officer / Managing Director at Costain Group PLC (2019–2020), and they previously served as a Non-Executive Director for the Port of London Authority (2017–2023). They are a Chartered Civil Engineer and earned a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey, along with executive education in Corporate Finance at London Business School (2015), Strategic Thinking at the Wharton School (2014), and Talent Management at Harvard Business School (2012). They completed 12 O'levels and 4 A'levels in Mathematics at Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera (1979–1986).
