Ben Kaplan

Ben Kaplan is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in the development of software for autonomous systems. Currently serving as a Staff Tech Lead Manager at Aurora since January 2021, Ben leads a team focused on self-driving software, including the implementation of vehicle-to-vehicle communication services. Prior to Aurora, Ben held multiple engineering roles at Uber from April 2015 to January 2021, culminating as a Senior Software Engineer, where significant contributions were made in perception and online mapping for self-driving technologies. Earlier career experiences include positions at Pillow, where Ben developed applications for property management, and Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, where Ben created tools for scientific analysis. Ben holds a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Biology from Tulane University, as well as a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco.
