Gary McCarthy

Gary McCarthy currently serves as the Head of First Responder Policy at Aurora since October 2021. Prior to this role, McCarthy was the Senior Manager of Fleet Safety and Law Enforcement Interaction at TuSimple from March 2020 to October 2021. McCarthy's extensive experience in law enforcement includes serving as the ESB Chief in the Enforcement and Compliance Division at the Arizona Department of Transportation from December 2018 to January 2020 and as the OIG Chief from June 2014 to December 2018. McCarthy also held the position of Housing Investigations Supervisor for the City of Phoenix between 2011 and June 2014 and spent several years with the Arizona Department of Public Safety as an Officer until retirement in 2011. Earlier roles include Police Lieutenant at the Avondale Police Department (2004-2007), Police Sergeant at the City of Glendale Police Department (1997-2004), and Police Officer at the City of Chandler (1994-1997).
