Michael Aspi

Michael Aspi is a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the development and design of various mechanical systems and products. Currently at Aurora since January 2023, Michael is involved in the mechanical development of the FirstLight™, a long-range LiDAR sensor. Previously, Michael held a Senior Mechanical Engineer position at Amazon, focusing on the mechanical architecture of the next generation of Amazon Glow, and served as a sustaining engineer for its predecessor. Michael's earlier role at Microsoft included product design for HoloLens and IVAS augmented reality products. Further experience includes senior mechanical engineering roles at Motorola Solutions and Motorola Mobility, where Michael contributed to IPX54 enclosure designs and thermal analysis for leading-edge mobile devices. Michael began the engineering career as an intern at Molex and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago.
