Michael Bode is a seasoned software engineer with a robust background in robotics and engineering management. Currently employed at Aurora Innovation since January 2017, Michael focuses on developing innovative software solutions. Previously, Michael served as an Engineering Manager at Uber from January 2015 to December 2016, where leadership of cross-discipline robotics teams was essential for planning and integrating technical components into successful products. Prior experience includes engineering management at the National Robotics Engineering Center, from May 2000 to April 2015, where Michael led the technical development of autonomy systems for self-driving haul trucks and managed motion planning for advanced mobile robotics projects under DARPA.
