Simon Phillips

Simon Phillips is a Technical Leader in Marine at Ausenco since July 2022, focusing on aquatic effects assessments and leading the marine community of practice to enhance processes in marine science. Previously, as a Biologist at Hemmera from August 2017 to July 2022, Simon managed marine and aquatic investigations for environmental assessments, conducted field surveys, and developed monitoring studies. Prior experience includes serving as a Data Coordinator at Cardno from May 2012 to August 2017, where Simon contributed to the response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and supported marine mammal studies. Earlier, as an Advisor at MAF Biosecurity New Zealand from February 2008 to August 2010, Simon researched marine vessel biofouling. Simon holds a Master of Science in Marine Biology from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from James Cook University.
