Christopher Smith's work experience begins in 2003 as an Electrical Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding. Christopher then moved onto Oldenburg Group Incorporated in 2009, where they served as an Engineering Manager for four years. In 2013, Smith returned to Newport News Shipbuilding as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Finally, in 2016, they joined Austal USA as the Chief Electrical Engineer, leading a department of electrical engineering professionals and overseeing various vessel projects.

Christopher Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999-2003. Christopher then pursued a Bachelor's degree in the same field at Virginia Commonwealth University from an unspecified start year until 2003. Later, Christopher completed a Masters of Science in Engineering Management at The George Washington University from 2005-2008.
