Austin Symphony
Jonathan Rouse is an accomplished double bass player with extensive experience in symphonic and operatic settings. Currently serving as Principal Bass for the Austin Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Principal Bass for the Austin Opera since 2016, Jonathan also held the position of Associate Principal Bass with the Winston Salem Symphony prior to these roles. Additional positions include various assistant and bassist roles with orchestras such as the South Carolina Philharmonic, Augusta Symphony, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Greenville Symphony Orchestra. Jonathan has also contributed to music education as an Adjunct Professor of Bass at Claflin University. Academic credentials include a Graduate Diploma from The Juilliard School and a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, complemented by a Master of Music from the University of South Carolina.
