Sergey Ilinsky

Sr. ML Engineer, Computer Vision at AuthenticID

Sergey Ilinsky has a long and varied work experience. Sergey began their career in 1995 as an Assistant Professor at St-Petersburg State Electrotechnical University. In 2007, they joined Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, Germany, R&D as a Senior Software Development Engineer. In 2012, they moved to Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer 2 at Bing Local Search Team, where they developed a Feature Extraction Service to retrieve new features from huge amounts of web search results. In 2014, they joined RMS as a Senior Software Development Engineer, where they created a new service-oriented Financial Model architecture. In 2015, they joined MediaAlpha, Inc. as a Data Scientist SDE, where they found an optimal Click-Thru-Rate model to increase revenue from ad clicks. In 2017, they joined MAANA as a Principal Applied Researcher, where they developed components of Maana Knowledge Graph. In 2019, they joined Axon as a Sr. AI SDE, where they developed a cloud-based training/validation pipeline for Automatic Licence Plate Recognition system (OCR model) and created a recommendation system for video files. Currently, they are a Sr. ML Engineer, Computer Vision at AuthenticID.

Sergey Ilinsky obtained their MS in Statistical Physics from Saint Petersburg State University between 1987 and 1993. Sergey then obtained their Ph.D. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" between 1994 and 1997. In 2005, they obtained their MS in Computer Science from Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University. In addition to these degrees, Ilinsky has obtained several certifications from Coursera, including "Sequences, Time Series and Prediction" (2020), "Deep Learning Specialization" (2018), "Sequence Models" (2018), "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" (2018), "Convolutional Neural Networks" (2017), "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" (2017), "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization" (2017), "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" (2017), "Foundations of Objective-C App Development" (2016), and "Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach" (2015).
