Mark Clancy

Mark Clancy joined Authoriti in September 2020. Prior to Authoriti, Clancy was the CISO and Vice President for Cybersecurity at Sprint. His role at Sprint encompassed the blending of the cybersecurity functions with the fraud team covering both online and retail. Prior to Sprint, he was the founder of Cyber Risk Research LLC, a research and consultancy organization focused on cybersecurity “sense making” and “decision making.” The company used automation, analytics, and configuration discipline to alter the economics of cyber intrusions and attacks in favor of defenders.

Clancy brings 25 years experience in IT, including 15 years focused on cybersecurity and technology risk management issues from the data center to the board room. He has worked with business leaders, industry groups, public officials, legislatures, and regulatory authorities around the globe to advance cybersecurity practices, standards, regulations, and laws.

He previously served as the CEO of Soltra, a joint venture between DTCC and the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) that promotes the sharing and consumption of cyber threat information via automation to reduce risk for critical infrastructures and increase attacker costs. Clancy facilitated the sale and transition of the Soltra business to NC4 in November of 2016.

Prior to forming Soltra, Clancy served as Chief Information Security Officer for DTCC where he was responsible for developing and implementing global security and business continuity policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, and threat assessments. Active in the financial services and critical infrastructure communities, he participated in the Financial Services Information and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) and Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC). He served on the Center for Strategic and International Studies Commission on Cybersecurity, making cyber security policy recommendations for the 45th Presidency of the U.S.

Clancy has testified before the U.S. Congress to the House Homeland Security committee, the House Financial Services subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Entities, and the Senate Commerce Committee on cybersecurity issues.
