Ed P. has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Ed has worked at companies such as Autodesk, PCH International, Intel Corporation, iSchematics LLC, Pelagic Pressure Systems, Honeywell, and Baxter Healthcare.
At Autodesk, Ed served as a Senior Principal Engineer and Product Owner, as well as a Sr. Manager, Software Development. Ed was responsible for Qt-based development in modern C++ and served as a Product Owner and Senior Software Development Manager for their remote team. Ed also acted as a Scrum Master and regularly collaborated with UI/UX, QA, and product management teams.
During their time at PCH International, Ed held the position of Principal Firmware Engineer and Firmware Manager. Ed successfully implemented various firmware projects, managed the firmware team, and led research and development efforts for embedded systems projects.
At Intel Corporation, Ed worked as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer and later as a Product Development Engineer. Their responsibilities included firmware code implementation, system architecture design, and various programming tasks for SSD products.
As the Owner and Founder of iSchematics LLC, Ed gained experience in designing and implementing embedded firmware and hardware projects, as well as developing desktop and mobile software and web systems.
Ed also worked at Pelagic Pressure Systems as an Embedded Systems Engineer and Engineering Manager, where they managed and implemented high-priority projects for underwater safety-critical dive computer products.
Ed began their career as a Programmer/Analyst Co-op at Baxter Healthcare, where they wrote Java/JSP programs and gained knowledge of relational database management.
Throughout their career, Ed has demonstrated strong technical skills in C++, Python, JavaScript, and various embedded systems development tools and protocols. Ed has experience in system architecture design, team management, firmware code implementation, and product development.
Ed P. obtained their B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northern Illinois University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Ed continued their education at San Francisco State University, earning an M.S. in Elec & Comp Engineering from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, Ed attended the University of Minnesota, completing 36 graduate credits in the field of EECS by 2013.
In terms of certifications, Ed has obtained several, including "Reviews & Metrics for Software Improvements," "Agile Planning for Software Products," "Client Needs and Software Requirements," "Software Processes and Agile Practices," and "Introduction to Software Product Management." These certifications were earned through Coursera in 2018. Additionally, they acquired the "Certified Interconnect Designer (CID)" certification from IPC in 2017 and completed a course on "Product Management" through UC Berkeley Executive Education in 2017.
Lastly, in September 2004, Ed passed the EIT - FE Subject Exam administered by the State of Illinois.
