Scott Klein is an accomplished journalist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in product development and technology integration in the news industry. Currently serving as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Automattic, Scott leads the Knight Election Hub, fostering innovation among newsrooms nationwide. As a Board Member of the Muckrock Foundation, Scott contributes to governance in nonprofit journalism focused on open data. Previously, Scott was the Chief Product Officer at THE CITY NY, overseeing product development for New York's largest nonprofit newsroom, and served as Deputy Managing Editor at ProPublica, where Scott led projects merging journalism with technology. Additionally, Scott co-founded DocumentCloud, transforming how primary source documents are utilized in newsrooms, and has held leadership roles at The Nation and consulted for various organizations. Scott holds a BA in English from Clark University.
