Simon MacArthur

Simon Macarthur currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer and Data Scientist at Automattic since December 2019. Prior to this role, Simon worked at Avant Mutual Group Limited from August 2004 to December 2019, where responsibilities included leading the development of machine learning algorithms, building web APIs, and managing strategic customer information initiatives as a Senior Data Scientist. Additionally, Simon held the position of Head of Business Intelligence, overseeing the implementation of an enterprise data warehouse and managing a team of 10. Earlier experience includes roles at American Power Conversion as an Analyst/Programmer and at TAB Limited as an Analyst/Programmer. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from the University of Technology Sydney.
