Ted Harapat

Ted Harapat has over 25 years of experience in various roles related to system administration and engineering. Ted currently serves as a Site Reliability Engineer at Automox since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Cisco as a Senior System Engineer for eight years from October 2014 to August 2022. Before Cisco, Ted worked at SendGrid as a DevOps Engineer, where they played a crucial role in the company's growth, managing redundant systems hardware, network hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Ted significantly expanded the server capacity from 300 leased servers to over 1500 servers spread across two data centers, supporting the increase in email volume from 70 million to 500 million daily. Ted also served as the UNIX/Network Operations Manager at Planet Discover, overseeing the daily operations of a 300+ server farm for a search engine product. Additionally, they have experience as a Senior Network Admin at Dynamic Broadband, a UNIX Systems Admin II at McLeodUSA, and a Senior Systems Admin at MidWest Access. Ted started their career as an Associate Systems Programmer at McLeodUSA.

Ted Harapat attended Iowa State University in 1995 but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. In addition to their university education, they have acquired several certifications, including Istio Service Mesh from KodeKloud in April 2022, Cloud Engineering from Qwiklabs in March 2022, Hybrid Cloud Service Mesh with Anthos from Qwiklabs in March 2022, and Google Cloud Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure from Qwiklabs in March 2022.
