William Britton

Founder, Chief Executive at AutonoMe

William Britton has extensive experience in the field of education and support for neurodiverse individuals and those with learning disabilities. William is the Founder and Chief Executive of AutonoMe, an organization that provides a technology platform and one-to-one support to help individuals with learning disabilities flourish in various areas such as employment, social care, education, and healthcare. Through AutonoMe, William Britton has supported over 450 adults and children with various needs, collaborating with local and central government, employers, educational providers, housing associations, mental health organizations, and more.

Prior to AutonoMe, William Britton worked at Weston College as a Lecturer specializing in teaching young adults with learning disabilities and neurodiversities. William taught a range of subjects such as ICT, Media, and Graphics, and helped over 80 students achieve their ICT functional skills qualifications with a 100% pass rate. Additionally, they served as an Assistive Technology Specialist, where they integrated technology into the curriculum for students with additional needs and provided training to staff on embedding assistive technology into their teaching practice. William Britton worked at Weston College from 2009 to 2015.

William Britton's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Video Production from the University of Portsmouth, which they obtained between 2004 and 2007. In 2010, they also attended Weston College for a Level 3 course in Supporting Adults with Learning Difficulties. Additionally, between 2010 and 2012, William pursued a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in Special Education and Teaching at Bath Spa University.
