Gary Saunders

Gary Saunders currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for both the Mineworkers' Pension Scheme and the DS Smith Pension Fund, roles held since May 2024 and February 2018, respectively. Additionally, Gary holds the position of Chair of the Advisory Board at Autumna since February 2018. Between September 2014 and January 2021, Gary provided executive coaching and consultancy to various companies in the UK and Italy. Prior experience includes leadership roles at DS Smith plc as Divisional Chief Executive for European Packaging and UK Paper and Packaging, management at McBride plc as Managing Director for Continental Europe, and positions at Sainsburys, Cott Beverages, and Quaker Oats. Gary's educational background includes a degree from the University of West London, completed from 1979 to 1983.
