Bert Wander

Bert Wander is an accomplished media and communications professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within prominent organizations. Starting as a freelance journalist, Bert covered international news and current affairs before advancing to significant positions such as Reporter at The Daily Star and Producer at Reprieve UK and Al Jazeera English. Bert held various roles at Save the Children UK, culminating in Acting Head of News, where responsibilities included leading editorial strategies for media coverage related to humanitarian efforts. Since joining Avaaz in October 2013, Bert has served in multiple capacities, including CEO, Deputy Director, and Campaigns Manager, showcasing a strong commitment to advocacy and media influence in global issues.
