Senior Lead QA Engineer at Availity

Steve Penella has an extensive work history, beginning in 1987 when they started as a Technical Support Engineer at IRI. Steve then moved on to Powersoft, where they held positions as a Senior Tech Support Engineer and an Application Developer. In 1995, they became the Technical Support Team Manager at Powersoft, where they led a team of 10 tech support engineers.

From 1996 to 2002, Steve worked as the QA Director at Allaire Corp., where they started the QA organization and grew the team to 10 engineers. Steve was responsible for supporting multiple products, including ColdFusion Application Server and HomeSite.

In 2002, Steve joined Bose Corporation as a Senior QA Engineer and later became the QA Manager of the Online Commerce Group. During their time at Bose, they built formal processes for test planning and execution and successfully converted the company's websites from MS ASP to J2EE.

After leaving Bose in 2008, Steve worked as a Senior Quality Engineer at ChoiceStream and then as a Principal Quality Engineer at Constant Contact. Steve then served as the Internet Software QA Manager at Bose Corporation for a brief period in 2011.

Steve then joined Optum in 2013 as the Principal QA Engineer/QA Lead, where they played a key role until 2019. Currently, Steve is working at Availity as a Senior QA Engineer and was recently promoted to the position of Lead QA Engineer.

Steve Penella has an education history that includes a Master's Certificate in Healthcare Informatics from UMass Boston, a Masters Certificate in IS/IT Project Management from Villanova University, a BA in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross, and they also attended Boston College High School where they focused on Liberal Arts and Sciences.
