Greg McDowell is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investor relations and equity research. Currently serving as Vice President of Investor Relations at Avalara since September 2025, McDowell previously held the position of Partner and Head of Technology Investor Relations and Advisory at ICR from October 2018 to September 2025. Prior to that, McDowell was the Managing Director of Equity Research at JMP Group LLC from December 2007 to October 2018, specializing in the software sector and leading research efforts on notable IPOs like SolarWinds and Dropbox. Earlier in McDowell's career, managerial experience was gained at Oracle as an Account Manager from December 1997 to January 2007. McDowell holds an MBA from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business and a BA from the University of California, Davis.
