Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith, MSL, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sales, fundraising, and coaching. Currently serving as the AI Partner Sales Manager at Avalara since April 2019, Matthew has previously held roles such as Account Development Representative and Account Specialist at WingPoint Group, where responsibilities included managing Amazon catalog operations. Notably, as Director of Fundraising for the Bainbridge Island Mavericks Select Baseball organization, financial stability was achieved through a successful fundraising initiative. Matthew has also contributed to the sports field as an Assistant Football Coach at both Bainbridge Island High School and Trine University, where coaching, player development, and administrative coordination were key duties. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Leadership with a focus on Sports Management from Trine University and a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, showcasing a solid academic foundation complemented by practical experience.
