Steven Cabrera

Steven Cabrera is a seasoned tax professional with extensive experience in sales and use tax consulting. Currently serving as Tax Director in Professional Services at Avalara since April 2016, Steven leads efforts in nexus studies, tax research, audit defense, and due diligence. Prior to Avalara, Steven contributed as a Sales and Use Tax Consultant at Grant Thornton LLP from March 2011 to April 2016, and held similar roles at RSM US LLP and Deloitte Tax LLP. Steven began a career in taxation as a State Sales and Use Tax Auditor with the California State Board of Equalization from March 1995 to May 2004. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accountancy from San Diego State University.
