Vincent Sgro

Vincent Sgro is an experienced software architect currently employed at Avalara since September 2022. Prior to this role, Vincent served as a senior software engineer at Import.io from February 2019 to August 2022, where responsibilities included leading and mentoring teams to address complex data challenges. Vincent co-founded Connotate, Inc. in April 1999 and held the position of chief technology officer until February 2019, successfully launching a web data extraction startup by translating machine learning research into a viable product and building a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Vincent began a career in technology as a research programmer at Rutgers University from December 1989 to April 1999, and holds both an M.S. and a B.S. in Computer Science, along with degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Rutgers University, obtained in 1993 and 1987, respectively.
