Egina Malaj, Ph.D., currently leads AI engineering at Avanade’s Center of Excellence, where they design analytic tools and architectures for enterprise-level AI implementations. They previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Saskatchewan, leading large-scale environmental monitoring and applying AI to assess ecological risks. Egina conducted doctoral research at the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research, focusing on statistical analyses of European river ecosystems, and they began their career as a Research Assistant at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education. Egina holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science & Technology from IHE Delft, a Doctor of Natural Sciences in Statistical Ecotoxicology from the University of Koblenz and Landau, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental & Agricultural Engineering from the Agricultural University of Tirana.
