Loong Chan

Loong Chan is a Senior Consultant in Data Engineering at Avanade since July 2022, previously serving as Data Engineering Lead (Interim), Senior Data Engineer, and Data Engineer at Finning from March 2018 to June 2022. Loong has extensive experience in data-related roles, contributing to projects involving Azure Data Factory, Spark platform enhancements, and the implementation of Terraform and CI/CD practices. Earlier roles include Data Scientist at PHEMI, where data-driven solutions were developed for insurance and healthcare providers, and Big Data Analyst during a co-op at the Communications Research Centre. Loong's career began with positions as a Programmer Analyst I at The University of British Columbia and various software development roles, reinforcing a strong foundation in computer science with a Master’s degree from SFU and a Bachelor's degree from Simon Fraser University.
