Whitley Ray has been in the professional workforce since 2011. Whitley began their career as a Cashier at Ace Hardware, then moved on to become a Software Training Consultant at CleanTelligent Software in 2015. In 2018, Whitley Ray took on the role of Public Relations and Marketing Specialist at BBB Serving Utah, where they wrote and published articles on recent scam trends and seasonal warnings, implemented a new social media service, and coordinated press releases and press conferences with several local and national News Stations. In 2019, Whitley Ray joined LogMeIn as a Tech Support Tier 2, where they identified and resolved network issues that prevented VOIP service, analyzed offline phones, and helped customers understand the software. Whitley also implemented recommended network settings on consumer and business-grade network equipment, and served as support to fellow team members as leadership became unavailable. In 2020, Whitley Ray joined AvantLink as a Marketing Communications Manager and Marketing Intern, and a Technical Support.

Whitley Ray began their educational journey in 2013, when they attended Snow College and obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Communication, General. Whitley then transferred to Utah Valley University in 2015, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric in 2021. During their time at Utah Valley University, they also participated in a Student Exchange Program at Westfälische Hochschule in 2017-2018, studying Communication and Media Studies. In September 2021, Whitley Ray obtained a certification as a Student Researcher from the CITI Program.
