Simon Ellis

Simon Ellis has over 18 years of work experience. Simon started their career at KPMG UK as an Auditor and later served as an Assistant Audit Manager. In 2007, they joined Johnson Matthey as a Group Accountant and gradually progressed to roles such as Corporate Accounting Manager and Finance Director for various divisions. From 2018 to 2022, Simon worked as a Finance Director at Johnson Matthey, overseeing Generic Products & Solutions and Clean Air in the Americas. Since 2022, they have been with Avantor, first as a Senior Finance Director in Manufacturing & Engineering, and currently as Vice President of Finance for Integrated Operations.

Simon Ellis earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham from 1998 to 2002. Simon then pursued Chartered Accountancy and earned the FCA degree from ICAEW between 2003 and 2007. In 2012-2013, they completed the Advanced Development Programme at Cranfield School of Management, where they received the Cranfield Award in Business & Leadership. Additionally, they participated in the Senior Leaders Programme at the London Business School from 2016 to 2017.
